SINFIN RUNNING CLUB
CLUB HISTORY
A little bit of Sinfin RC history...
Sinfin Running Club was started in 1984 with the help of the Sinfin Community Council and met every Wednesday at Sinfin Moor Social Club.
The club grew in membership and stature and soon started to pick up individual and team prizes in many races, both at senior and junior level.
One of the clubs biggest achievements was when they won the national final of the ‘Today’s Runner’ cross country league. The club had some very good runners, Pete Yeomans and Tim Bishop being just two of them. These two runners won many races including the Worksop Half Marathon and Bury 20.
Up until the politics surrounding the coronavirus, the club organised an annual 10k race, The Sinfin Classic, which originally, ran around Sinfin but later moved to Elvaston Castle. This race sadly ceased due to complications following the restart of races and changes happening at Elvaston which made the organisation of the race untenable.
